A lot of our clients wonder what is a chapter 13 bankruptcy and can it help me? The answer is it depends upon your circumstances, income, and assets. In some cases you may want to file a chapter 13 bankruptcy because you want to strip the 2nd or 3rd mortgage off your home. In other cases your income makes it impossible for you to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy, and the chapter 13 is the only way you can make a debt settlement plan that works. In all cases before you do debt settlement you should look at your chapter 13 options, in many cases it will be the better option to resolve your debt.
