Collectors Calling At Work

Collectors Calling At Work

If you are being harassed by creditors calling you at work you may be able to sue the collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If you have told the collector to stop calling you and they continue to call you may be entitled to damages from the collector. You need to talk to an attorney before the collector costs you your job. For many people they cannot take calls at work, and their employer will get tired pretty quickly of these calls and potentially terminate an individual for collection calls.

I see clients every day who are receiving these harassing calls at work and have repeatedly told the collector to stop calling them at work. If they lose their job based on these calls, how will they be able to pay any of their creditors. If you receive these types of calls keep a phone log of who called and when. In Minnesota you can also record the telephone conversation without getting the other sides permission. This means that if you are being harassed over the telephone you can record the call, to document the abuse. You can find us online at www.bolinskelaw.com.
