Bolinske & Bolinske - Minnesota Criminal and DWI Lawyers
All Felonies & Misdemeanors:
The Criminal Attorney you hire is the attorney that will represent you from beginning to end. Unlike some firms, where a new attorney who is unfamiliar with your case shows up at hearing or trial, your case will be handled by Michael Bolinske or Chad Bolinske. We do not contract out cases to “teams” or “case managers.”
From beginning to end, pre charge investigation to appeal you can be assured that your case will be handled by one of the partners of Bolinske & Bolinske. One of the most important calls you can make, when suspected of committing a crime, is to contact a Criminal Attorney immediately. The mistake most make is that they talk to the police prior to talking to an attorney. By hiring a Criminal Defense Attorney we will contact the police for you. We will negotiate with the police and prosecutors and in some cases can resolve the case prior to any charges being filed.
Federal Crimes:
Many individuals facing federal charges fail to understand the gravity of the process. Federal investigators and prosecutors have every tool at their disposal to ensure conviction. Essentially cases are “cherry picked” based on the ability of the prosecutor to obtain a conviction.
Prior to any appearance as a Defendant in Court or before an indictment is issued by a Grand Jury, you need an experienced counsel to represent you. Failing to be adequately prepared to testify in front of a Grand Jury can result in indictment, and further criminal charges. Be prepared, hire one of our Defenses Attorneys to represent you. Our Federal Practice Areas Include:
- Federal Drug Crimes: Trafficking, Possession, Sales, Delivery, Conspiracy, Manufacturing
- White Collar Crimes: Business Fraud, Bank Fraud, Forgery, Insider Trading, Mail Fraud
- Healthcare Fraud: Medicare Fraud, Medicaid Fraud, Billing Fraud
Internet Crimes: Identity Theft, Sale of Illegal Products, Hacking, Copyright violation
Child Pornography: Trafficking, Possession, Solicitation
Drugs & Narcotics:
State laws in Minnesota are only getting tougher for Drug Crimes. Hire our experience to have the charges minimized or dismissed. We handle drug cases for possession, sale, distribution, manufacturing, delivery and conspiracy, among others.
Violent Crime, Murder, Assault:
Violent crimes such as Assault, Domestic Assault, Assault By Strangulation, Homicide, Murder, Manslaughter, False Imprisonment, and Robbery, among others generate special scrutiny by the police, prosecutors, and judges. Proper investigation and preparedness at the various stages is absolutely necessary to ensure that a fairness of the proceeding is protected. Many of these crimes carry long prison sentences and even longer probationary terms. The Minnesota Criminal Defense Attorneys at Bolinske & Bolinske will review each aspect of the case and make the appropriate legal motions to ensure that your Constitutional rights are protected.
Theft, Fraud, Embezzlement:
At times business and otherwise professional people make poor decisions when handling the money and goods of others. White collar crimes are complex, often involving financial documents and tracing and accounting of funds. Determining the responsible party can result in the police accusing an innocent person. Our Criminal Lawyers work with experts to ensure that an accused receives all defenses available.
Sex Crimes:
Allegations of sex crimes have become common place in the news. Police and prosecutors often feel compelled to go forward despite iffy statements from alleged victims. In most case the interaction is a she said he said event with conflicting testimony. You must have a Criminal Attorney who is willing to conduct a good investigation and determine the veracity of statements. Police reports are more often than not self serving documents that only account for one side of the story. Prior to speaking with the police, contact Bolinske & Bolinske to ensure your rights are protected. We can represent you in Sexual Assault, Rape, Sexual Misconduct, Indecent Exposure, Child Molestation, Prostitution, Date Rape, and Statutory Rape cases.
Juvenile Crimes:
Different sets of procedures apply to juveniles accused of crimes in Minnesota. The original goal was to rehabilitate and not to punish. Currently, there is a strong push to bring young men and women into adult court to stand trial or to apply adult sentences to juveniles. Police are attempting to interview younger and younger children, without even their parents present. Do not let your child be interviewed without an attorney being present, the consequence are too great.
Alternative Sentencing/Expungement:
The options and possibilities for plea deals and resulting sentences are too numerous to list. Plea deals can range from outright dismissal, continuance for dismissal, stay of adjudication, stay of imposition, community service, counseling, among others. Prosecutors typically have a blanket plea deal ready for a particular type of case. For individuals attempting to represent themselves prosecutors typically do not make their best deal. It is up to the Criminal Defense Lawyer to suggest alternatives that will work with all parties involved, the defendant, the prosecutor and the court.
DWI / Drunk Driving Defense:
Driving While Impaired, can be while under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Make no mistake this is a serious offense that can involve loss of license, fines, forfeiture of vehicles and jail. The offense is serious enough and complex enough that Bolinske & Bolinske has a separate portion of our site devoted to DWI law.
Bench Warrants / Probation Violations:
Failure to appear in a case or probation matter or failing to comply with a court order will result in a warrant for your arrest. We work hard to minimize the consequences of warrants. In many cases redress can be made by paying the bail amount which will add a condition on the next appearance. Contact one of our Criminal Attorneys to discuss your particular Minnesota Warrant problem.
Probation violations pose a very serious issue. Essentially, courts only look at whether a violation of the probation has occurred or not. If a violation is found courts can impose the stayed portion of the sentence thus resulting in jail or prison time for the violator. Probation violations are to be taken very seriously. Hiring an attorney to present evidence in your violation hearing is essential to ensure that no violation is found.
In addition to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul our attorneys practice in the seven county metro area of: Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, Dakota, Anoka, Carver, and Washington and in the cities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Plymouth, Brooklyn Park, Eagan, Coon Rapids, St. Louis Park, Edina, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Burnsville, among others.
